The Prep Arts and Year 3 Building heralds an exciting approach to year-level precincts and brings creative learning to new heights. Two visual art classrooms, an exhibition space and a dedicated teaching area focused on learning through creativity and technology (including robotics, programming and 3D printing and design), provide a unique space for our youngest boys to nurture their curiosity and creativity whilst also centralising the teaching of these specialist areas within the Prep School.
Various tangible opportunities for acknowledgement of financial contributions were provided. Throughout the stunning spaces of this building, there are named rooms and spaces, plus personalised legacy bricks for past students to acknowledge their time in the Prep School.
The Centenary Library is a tertiary-inspired innovative environment, providing a range of services to students, making it the 'heart' of learning at Churchie. Designed to international standards, it is a truly world class facility full of dynamic, collaborative and open spaces. It epitomises Churchie's culture of learning, innovation and creativity, whilst maintaining a design and aesthetic that complements the architecture of buildings across the Churchie landscape.
The Sir John Pidgeon Sports Complex is well utilised across a large range of sports. It features a fully equipped gymnasium that provides for extensive cardio and weight training, two basketball (six volleyball) courts and a viewing deck on the first floor that enables good visibility of games by spectators.
A successful brick campaign was conducted for this facility. Across the Churchie community of Parents, Old Boys and Staff, over 1,500 bricks were purchased and are now incorporated into the exterior walls of the complex.
Morris Hall, named in honour of the School's founding headmaster Canon Morris, is the main assembly hall. It is also home to numerous music, drama and art productions where students can express their creative talents. Ahead of the School centenary in 2012, this iconic brick building underwent a major renovation to include improved music, drama and art facilities. The building’s classic features were carefully preserved throughout the renovation.
To help fund the renovation, Old Boys were provided with the opportunity to purchase a brick, entitling them to have their name engraved onto a brick and placed into the Centenary Wall of Morris Hall.
